Frequently Asked Questions

You list Rescue Bags or Individual Items of surplus food at the end of the day at a discounted price. Customers reserve and pay through the app, then pick up during a window you set. You earn money on food that would otherwise be thrown away. Anything that doesn't sell is picked up by RLC volunteers and donated to local nonprofits -- at no extra cost or effort to you.

Most businesses can complete onboarding and create their first listings in just a few minutes. Our team is also happy to provide onboarding support and answer any questions along the way. Reach out to collab@evrybite.com to get started.

Yes, you can deactivate an Individual Item or Rescue Bag listing at any time by selecting Deactivate in the web portal or app. If there are active orders associated with the listing, those orders must be cancelled first. You can cancel an order through the Business Portal or mobile app. Since customers are only charged once a pickup is confirmed or a listing expires, cancelled orders do not require a refund. Please note that deactivated listings cannot currently be reactivated. If you'd like to offer the item again in the future, you'll need to create a new listing.

EvryBite is designed to be flexible and simple. Businesses can create recurring weekly listings based on their typical surplus schedule, so once your listings are set up, you generally only need to make changes if your inventory or schedule changes. You can also edit or create additional listings as needed.

We recommend setting up your listings in advance based on your regular schedule of surplus food. For example, if your business usually has extra pastries every evening or surplus prepared meals every Friday, you can create recurring listings ahead of time and update them only when needed.

EvryBite charges a 30% platform fee on completed sales, plus a $5.99 monthly subscription fee. As a Boston launch partner, your first three months of the monthly subscription are completely free.

Payments are processed securely through Stripe. Payouts are sent on the 15th of each month once your account balance reaches $10.00. You can monitor your earnings and payout history in your Business Portal under: Settings → Payouts

Nothing goes to waste. One of the things that makes EvryBite different is our connection to Rescuing Leftover Cuisine's food rescue network. When possible, unsold food may still be redistributed through local nonprofit and community partners, helping ensure more good food stays in the community instead of going to waste.

Yes, food donations are protected under the Bill Emerson Good Samaritan Food Donation Act. We're happy to walk you or your insurance team through the documentation.

EvryBite helps businesses reach a different audience of deal-seekers, students, and spontaneous buyers who may not have otherwise visited. Many businesses also find that surplus food apps introduce new customers who later return and become regulars.
Tips for keeping full-priced customers: set tighter pickup windows (last 30–45 minutes before close), list Rescue Bags rather than specific items, and cap your daily bag count.

At this time, each business location operates as its own independent account. Each location has its own dashboard, listings, orders, and payout account. Multi-location management under a single dashboard is not currently available.

No, you can sign up and prepare your account now, and there's no obligation to go live until you're ready. As a Boston launch partner, you'll also receive your first three months of the monthly subscription free.
